Both Delta and United have a pet safe program to ensure the puppies receives the best care during their journey from qualified attendants. The veterinarian documents that the puppy is safe for travel and up to date on all immunizations. An interstate health certificate is issued during ng the visit that will be presented to the airline. A shipping carte is required. I purchase my shipping crate from Walmart. I use the 21 x 19 x 23 200 series hard plastic crate. I purchase paper bedding from the small animal department at Walmart to provide an absorbent bedding for our Olde English bulldogge puppies in transport. Two containers for water are attached to the metal gate of the shipping crate. I place ice cubes in the water container as it melts the pup will have fresh water throughout the trip. No pups are ever sedated as this is against the airline rules. A reservation is made 7 to 5 days prior to the pups release day with Delta air. The buyers name, address, and phone number have to be on all paperwork traveling with the pup. The puppy is delivered to the Jacksonville airport cargo center 2 ½ hours prior to flight departure. I always take out insurance based on the pup’s sale price just in case there an unforeseen accident occurred in transport. The Olde English bulldogge puppies new owner is contacted after delta had taken possession of the pup and given the pups tracking number. The pup can be tracked while in travel online at delta.com using the reservation confirmation number. The new owner arrives at the airport destination to pick up their pup in either the cargo center or airline terminal. Identification is required to take possession of the puppy and the new owner must sign for the puppy. We at Olde South Bulldogges have used this method to ship pups for the last 9 years. We have never had any problems. Delta cargo and United have been very accommodating and have always delivered our Olde English Bulldogge puppies safely to the new owner.
