Old English Bulldog Puppies FRAUD ALERT!!!
I was recently exposed to a fraud attempt by a scammer who stole photos of my old English bulldogs puppies from my website and facebook page. This person was most likely not in the US. He had posted a profile on facebook using the name Jeremy Maxwell. He recently changed his profile to James Mark. He had a photo of one of my black tri pups that was sold a year prior as his profile photo. He had also used a photo of one of my old English bulldog puppies as a cover photo. The puppy photo he stole for the cover was of Poe. Poe was one of our best old English bulldog puppies. Poe is a year old now and the photo he was trying to use to “sell pups” was a photo of Poe as an 8 week old pup. I contacted this man to let him know I was on to his scheme and he blocked me immediately from facebook. My sister contacted this man and pretended to be a buyer of his old English bulldogs puppy for sale. She communicated with the scammer though FB messenger. He gave a phone number out of Massachusetts. He gave an address of a property in NY as his location. After doing some research, I discovered that the property address was a vacant home in NY that was for sale. He instructed her to go to a money gram station to pay the shipper. Money gram stations are located in CVS, Dollar General, and other national chains. The email he sent her to verify the sale and shipment looked very legit. He had stolen letter head from a legitimate shipping company to compose the shipping verification. I had a client contact me to alert me to this scam initially. She was being quoted a price of $1000 for the black tri pup in the photo along with other blue and blue tri pups he had stolen photos of from my page. She knew it was too good to be true and did some research. She found me online and FB as the owner of the photo/pup he was trying to sell. Jeremy had tried to make an appointment with my female client to meet him to see the pups at the NY address. This could have been a dangerous situation if she had not done her research. I can’t stress this enough to people..if the price for quality old English bulldog puppies is under $1500 it is a scam. The people who defraud you are very good at sounding like a legitimate breeder of old English bulldogs puppies. Your first clue should be their manner of communicating. The messages sent to my sister were in English but the grammar was slightly different from how we normally converse on FB. For example he said “ I will have the pup registered for an urgent and classic delivery”. It is not possible to get a deal on old English bulldog puppies for a reputable full time breeder. It’s just too costly and labor intensive to breed and care for these dogs properly for a breeder to give away their pups. Please beware!!! I will be happy to evaluate any puppy you want to purchase at any time to let you know if I think you may be a victim of a scam.
